About

I am the pastor of Hillside Wesleyan Church in Olean, NY.

This blog is meant to provide a forum to explore some of the same teachings we are working through in our church, and to provide a place to discuss issues relevant to Christianity today.

My personal e-mail is pastorhwc@verizon.net
Our church web page is www.hillsidewc.net.

My life is an offering to God; my purpose is deep, authentic intimacy with the Lord Jesus.

Romans 12:1, John 11:25-26

Philippians 3:7-11 (NIV)
But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.  What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things.  I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ-the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.  I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.

The photo at the top of the blog was taken by my lovely daughter Heather.  It is of the prayer tree at Teen Mania’s Honor Academy, Garden Valley, TX.  Thanks, Heather!
